1 Timothy 4:1-3: What are the Doctrines of Demons in the Last Days?

1 Timothy 4:1-3: What are the Doctrines of Demons in the Last Days?

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;” ( 1 Timothy 4:1-3 KJV)

Some are teaching that the Doctrine of Demons is that a person says they are saved by belief on Christ but that they need to make sure they are doing good works or they can lose salvation. My brothers and sisters in Christ, that is a LIE FROM satan himself! That belief is actually a Doctrine of Demons by the very context of 1 Timothy 1 and 1 Timothy 4. They take the first 3 verses and that is all they show to people and then they make the rest up! Let’s look at the full context of these first 3 verses to see the truth. And the truth is actually the very opposite of their false belief.

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; FORBIDDING TO MARRY, and commanding to ABSTAIN FROM MEATS, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” (1 Tim. 4:1-5 KJV)

WHAT ARE THESE DOCTRINES OF DEMONS?

We live in the End Times. The Last Days. And so, it is important to understand what these false doctrines Paul is telling Timothy to work against in teaching believers actually are.

Paul goes on telling Timothy,

“7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
8 For BODILY EXCERCISE profiteth little: but GODLINESS is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which IS TO COME.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because WE TRUST IN THE LIVING GOD, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of THOSE THAT BELIEVE.
11 These things command and teach.” (1 Tim. 4:7-11 KJV)

Who is the ‘saviour of all men’? That is referring to Jesus Christ, our Lord!  Paul is telling Timothy to teach BELIEF ON CHRIST and TRUST IN CHRIST and HIS finished work on the cross and not these legalistic things which are the very Doctrines of Demons.

There were two huge heresies back then affecting believers in Christ; Gnosticism and Judiazers. Previously in 1 Timothy 1, Paul instructs Timothy to fight against the false teachers, Judiazers, that taught works are required for Salvation which is the same FALSE gospel that Paul rebuked in Galatians saying that such teachers are to be accursed. That those believing in works for salvation are foolish (Gal 3) and that Christ is of no effect unto them that believe they need to return to WORKS of the Law (Gal 5:4-5).

Here again, we see specific works are addressed, (i) forbidding to marry and (ii) refraining from eating meats; both of which are false SELF DENIAL beliefs to please God. These are RELIGIOUS legalistic works that today we do see being taught in many denominations and religious cults claiming to be Christian. They make themselves look good to others outwardly in religious rituals and works but inwardly are full of evil because they are not even born again IN THE SPIRIT by BELIEF on Christ alone. (John 3:5-6, 14-18, 36, John 6:37-40, 1 Cor. 15:1-4, Colossians 2).

These were the way the Pharisee leaders were during Christ’s Earthly ministry as well. Jesus addressed these legalistic Pharisee religious leaders of the Jews like this with very harsh words indeed,

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, HYPOCRITES! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful OUTWARD, but are WITHIN full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.” (Matthew 23:27 KJV)

“Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?” (Matthew 23:33 KJV)

Strong words! Those believing on their own works to save them are headed for condemnation in hell! Jesus and Apostle Paul taught harshly against the false gospel of WORKS FOR SALVATION and WORKS REQUIRED AFTER SALVATION. They are the very Doctrines of Demons Paul is writing in warning to Timothy about. Satan does not care if you go to church service teaching the false gospel of works for salvation. That is his goal actually!! Deception. He is the FATHER Of LIES. Believing our works are required for salvation is like saying to Jesus… ‘ okay you paid my past sins, now i must work to keep my salvation’. IMPOSSIBLE! Who are we? Christ crucified?! They dare take the glory of Christ’s work upon themselves? This is pure boasting in self righteous pride. Do not do it!

This heresy in the early church is here today and in a big way in these end times. Gnosticism and Judiazers. The False Gospel Of Works For Salvation is something Paul taught hard against in Ephesians 2:8-10 and Galatians 3 and 5 . And Jesus warned sternly against such false prophets teaching it in Matthew 7: 22-23. Salvation is only by faith and trust in Christ and HIS finished work on the cross. Our works to please God are not part of Salvation. Good works are, well… good! Yes! But they are from being saved not for being saved. Legalistic Works save no one.

Apostle Paul,

“For BY GRACE are ye saved THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the GIFT OF GOD:  NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should BOAST. For we are HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS – UNTO- GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. ” (Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV)

Once we are born again by belief on Christ God recreated our SPIRIT (2 cor. 5:17-21) and we were immediately indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14). We became ‘created in Christ Jesus’ in our Spirit and now with our new Spirit, UNTO good works. It is not works for salvation. It is works from salvation. And even the works from salvation are not required for our justification in salvation. And the devil and demons twist that into a works required false Gospel. Today we know it as Lordship Salvation and it is not the Gospel!

Apostle Paul,

“Christ is become of NO EFFECT UNTO YOU, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are FALLEN FROM GRACE” (Galatians 5:4 KJV)

Self denial is a doctrine of demons. It is all about religious rituals and works to remain saved. It is today one of the biggest heresies called Lordship Salvation. We live in the Last Days, and many many many so called ‘christian’ organizations and denominations teach the false gospel of works for salvation. No one is saved by this Doctrine of Demons! If your church is teaching that, run from that church. Good works from salvation are to be done because it is right – but never to keep you saved. Only Christ keeps us saved.

Otherwise, they are teaching the Doctrines of Demons in the Last Days.

2 Peter 3: Earth Destruction Is Coming, But When?

2 Peter 3: Earth Destruction Is Coming, But When?

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” (2 Peter 3:10-12 KJV)

Bible prophecy is clear that this Earth and the Heavens will one day pass away. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35 KJV) and here in 2 Peter 3, we see that Apostle Peter states the same event and he gives us more details about this event.

Most of the unsaved world of people have heard about ‘Armageddon’  but they do not understand nor have read the Biblical text about the events of the End Times that the Bible actually shows us. They watch movies and television showing how this Earth is going to be destroyed one day and that no one will survive on Earth. They think that every living thing on Earth will be destroyed completely and that God is going to wipe out humankind. They believe in prophecies written by humans like, Nostradamus and not the Bible. Nostradamus, by the way, does not have a good track record for 100% fulfillment! The Bible has fulfilled it’s prophecies with 100% accuracy and in great detail, with many prophecies coming to pass before our eyes today and more to come. I have even seen some religious people teaching that Jesus is going to come back and kill us all by burning the Earth like He did when He flooded the Earth in Noah’s day.

There are some half truths in all this wrong information being sent to the people of the world and you know who is very good at deceiving people against the Biblical truth by using half truths? Sound like anyone we believers know?  Oh yes, that has the key markers of the father of lies (John 8:44); Satan. The ruler of this current world system (Ephesians 6:12) on the planet who seeks to destroy us (1 Peter 5:8). Who blinds the truth from peoples eyes so that they do not come to salvation in Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4, Revelation 12:9).

Many are using this one verse, while ignoring all the other verses of Scripture that describe the Second Coming of Christ and the 1000 year Kingdom Age to come, and the ruling and reigning of Christ ON EARTH after He returns. They see this phrase “as a thief in the night” and they apply it to mean that Peter is stating that one day, at a time no one knows, God is going to sweep in and destroy the Earth and everyone on it, without any warnings. And that, is what we call a bold face lie. They make God out to be a hateful God who never gives warnings and that is NOT the God of the Bible.

Peter is talking about ‘The Day Of The Lord’. Some people take this to mean a literal specific day, a specific date. But that is not correct. The Day Of The Lord is a span of time to unfold in the Last Days of this dispensation of God’s Grace. It begins after the Rapture of The Bride Of Christ, when a 7 year period of time known as the Tribulation Period, or Daniel’s 70th week prophecy begins and ends when the Earth is destroyed by fire. This is at least a time span of 1007 years, not a specific date. When Peter wrote this, he fully understood that to God,  1 day to Him is like 1000 years to us on Earth.

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.” (Psalm 90:4 KJV)

Peter even tells us specifically about the time spans from God’s perspective and by the calendar of Biblical Prophecy, in this very same writing describing this event a few verses previously. This was very clear to the Jewish peoples.  Unfortunately, verse 8 seem to be ignored by false teachers and they only show verses 10 onward. That makes what they teach about this being a specific date, a bold face lie.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as A THOUSAND YEARS, and a THOUSAND YEARS AS ONE DAY.” (2 Peter 3:8 KJV)

Peter is writing that it is not going to happen with God destroying all human life on Earth. No. It is going to start out without much warning. Apostle Paul writes that to those who are not saved believers on Christ, that the Harpazo Rapture of  Church Age believers (our current dispensation of grace) will comes as a thief in the night to whom? To all people? No. Only to those who have not accepted the free gift of salvation through Christ crucified!

“But of the times and the seasons, BRETHREN, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a THIEF IN THE NIGHT.  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon –THEM–, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

BUT YE, BRETHREN, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.  YE ARE ALL the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.” (1 Thessalonians 5: 2-5 KJV)

In 1 Thessalonians 4, the previous chapter, Apostle Paul is describing the event of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of believers in Christ. Apparently some false teachers were telling these group of believers that they had missed the Rapture event ! And believers were getting very worried because they knew what was coming next, The Day Of The Lord, and the prophecies about that time period are horrible!  Apostle Paul is very clear here to reassure them that no believer in Christ will ever miss the Rapture, the bodily resurrection of all believers. He goes on in 1 Thessalonians 5 and explains by comparison, the truth, in order to end their confusion by the false teachers. He compares the BRETHREN (save believers) To ‘THEM’ (unsaved people).

To the unsaved, to them, the Harpazo Rapture will come as a thief in the night and without warning. Why Because they know nothing about this event as unbelievers. This is the same as Peter is stating in 2 Peter 3; The beginning of The Day Of The Lord time period will come as a thief in the night, to the unsaved. Once the Rapture happens, those left will be in major trouble on Earth. Chaos will begin pretty much immediately until the Antichrist takes over rule of the world trough some great deception which the Bible does not give us details about.

Paul then goes on to give great comfort and assurance to the believers that they will never miss the Harpazo Rapture event. Everyone who believes on Christ will be there! In comparison to what he just described about how unbelievers will be reacting, he then turns to the believers and states, “BUT YE, BRETHREN, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.”

Believers should not be worrying about missing the Rapture event, we know it is going to happen. And when it does, this pause in the 70 week prophecy God gave to Daniel that we live in, this time period known as the Dispensation Of Grace / Church Age, will end.  Daniel’s 70th week prophecy given by God for the Last Days, a 7 year span of time, will begin called Jacobs Trouble.  Most refer to as The Tribulation Period in human history. This 7 year period is just the beginning of The Day Of The Lord, which continues from then until the end of the 1000 year Kingdom Age with Christ ruling on the Earth.

After the final rebellion on Earth, there will be a New Heavens and a New Earth. There are different types of ‘Heavens’ in the Bible. The Third Heaven is where God and the beloved City Of New Jerusalem is located right now.  The Second Heaven is space with all the planets and stars etc. The Heaven, by context, that Peter is speaking of is the Earth’s atmosphere and some if not all of space. Humans have landed on the moon. Our technology with messages are out there.. way out there now with rovers and space craft! This all needs to be destroyed. Every tra eof sin must be eliminated.

All those on Earth that rebelled against God along with the devil and his angles were all killed by fire from Heaven as they attack the camp of Christ on Earth in Jerusalem (Revelation 20:9).  All that are left are believers. The Earth and the Atmosphere will be destroyed by fire. A cleansing of all that is sinful is all burnt up completely and utterly and all things are made new.

This may be just a destruction of Earth and it’s atmosphere, or it may be destruction of the entire universe. Humans have reached outward into space now with technology. The devil and his angels were also out there in space until kicked out of the heavens to Earth. They are all about SIN. So it may very well be the entire universe will be destroyed and a new one crated. Or it is in another dimension. The Bible is not clear about that specifically. Regardless of which, we will all be safe inside the New Jerusalem. It may be that we are all transported to the Third Heaven where the New Jerusalem is now located and ten the whole universe is detsroyed and a new one created. That also makes pefrect sense when we read Revelation 21:2.

At the end of the 1000 year Kingdom Age we see that the Earth is destroyed and then the New Jerusalem, that ‘heavenly city’, the eternal home for the Bride of Christ, and all believers in Christ, is seen coming down OUT of the third Heaven and to the Earth.

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”(Revelation 21:2 KJV)

It is described by John as ‘a bride adorned for her husband’. We may all be in that city before the New Heavens and Earth are created and then the whole city, with us in it, will land on the New Earth. The City of all believers will come down out of the Third Heaven, where it is currently located.  All believers are evacuated from Earth and the Earth is destroyed by fire. We are all safe and sound in the New Jerusalem. A huge structure of 1500 x 1500 miles cubed! Enough room for every believer from all of human history to have a huge property of space. This is the place Jesus said he went to prepare for us in John 14. The sheer size of this also is leading me to believe in speculation that the New Earth will be much larger than our current one. Place a cubed size object on our current Earth with this size of 1500 miles cubed. It would be too big to land on the Earth. So it may very well be a NEW EARTH in a NEW UNIVERSE where all sin is irradiated and does not exist. Hard for us sinful humans to grasp isn’t it?

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV)”

Nothing on Earth will compare to our eternal home with Christ. And once the Earth and Heavens are destroyed an dcleansed and all sin and effects of sin purged by fire, The New Jerusalem will land on the New Earth with the New Heavens (atmosphere and possibly the universe in space too). The Scripture does not tells us how long it will be before the New Earth and New Heavens is ready but whenever it is, the New Jerusalem will land on the New Earth and that is where we will live in eternity with God.

1 Corinthians 1:17: What did Paul mean by MY GOSPEL?

1 Corinthians 1:17: What did Paul mean by MY GOSPEL?

“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” (1 Cor. 1:17 KJV)

These words of from Apostle Paul, are for the gentiles living in our current dispensation time period called the Dispensation of grace. Yet, we have many sincere Bible teachers telling people that water baptism is still a REQUIREMENT for Salvation. This is blown away by Paul in one verse written above. If water baptism were required for us living in today’s age of grace, why would Paul write this? In fact, Paul is the ONLY Apostle that can even state this. All the other Apostles in the Gospels, and shortly after the event of Jesus’ crucifixion, all used water Baptism. Jesus also had his disciples water baptize during His ministry to the Jewish people. If so, how can Paul state such a thing?

This is important to understand. And this seeming contradiction, like so many others on the topic of Salvation by pulpits and Bible teachers, disappears when we understand that the Word of God, the Holy Bible, is divided into different dispensations.

There Is Only One Gospel; Belief On The Messiah, The Foretold Christ

Let me be crystal clear about this. There are some teaching Bible dispensations as if the way to heaven is different before and after the cross. That before the cross works were a requirement of salvation and after the  cross  works were not a requirement. That is not what I am talking about when I mention Dispensations. There is only ONE GOSPEL in both the Old and New Testament. There are differences though in how the Holy Spirit relates to us in these different dispensations.

OLD TESTAMENT BELIEVERS

Old Testament believers looked forward to a coming promised Messiah who would be a final payment for sins. But because Christ had not come, those living under the Law of Moses had to make an animal sacrifice of an ‘unblemished’ animal as a temporary covering of their sins until Messiah came (Hebrews 9 and 10). The Holy Spirit was UPON BELIEVERS of the foretold Messiah, but were not indwelled and sealed as Church Age believers are today. They looked forward to the day when The Messiah would come and eradicate sin forever. This belief did not mean they were immediately indwelt by the Holy Spirit, though the Holy Spirit was UPON THEM.

King David himself prayed that God would not take the Holy Spirit from him following his sin with Bathsheba as we read in Psalm 51:11. This is showing that even they did not believe so. To them, they never even knew about the Holy Spirit indwelling a person and becoming one with God as Jesus prayed in John 17.

Old Testament believers were never promised that the Holy Spirit would be sealed within them as a guarantee of their eternal destiny in Heaven. They needed to keep believing that the Messiah would come and be the final sacrifice for all sin. That by doing animal sacrifices they are covered until the Messiah will come and accomplish it.

CHURCH AGE BELIEVERS (The Bride Of Christ)

In the dispensation of grace we now live within (The Church Age between the cross and Pre-Tribulation Rapture), the Holy Spirit indwells and seals a person from the moment of belief on Christ (Eph. 1:13-14) and His blood atonement for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2) and His rising from death (1 Cor. 15:1-4, Colossians 2). This belief seals a person and is our ‘earnest’ which means it guarantees our eternal destiny in Heaven. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is unique to The Bride of Christ (Church Age believers in Christ).

TRIBULATION PERIOD BELIEVERS

Israel, the Jewish people, as a group, have still not accepted Jesus as Messiah. They are still looking for the Messiah to come and unfortunately when Antichrist comes to power, many will believe he is the Messiah come. Yes, some Jewish people have come to salvation in Christ just as in the early church and to this day. Jew or gentile, a believer in Christ is saved and indwelt by the Holy Spirit in the Church Age (Galatians 3:28). But Israel as a nation/group have not been indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

Once Church Age believers are Pre-Tribulation Raptured, all left on Earth are unbelievers. I cannot find Scripture that makes an eternal security promise by an indwelling Holy Spirit for Tribulation believers. Scripture indicates that those who come to believe that Jesus, and not the Antichrist, is Messiah and who reject worshiping the Antichrist with the Mark of the beast must ‘endure until the end’. Endure how? Endure Antichrist persecution while not taking the mark, without which no one will be able to buy nor sell. This enduring is enduring in belief because they do not have the sealed indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will work as in Old Testament times, ‘UPON THEM’ , not sealed within them. The indwelling Holy Spirit will have already left when the Church Age believers were Raptured before the Tribulation Period starts.

APOSTLE PAUL TAUGHT DISPENSATIONS IN THE BIBLE

Timothy was a very close person in Paul’s ministry. So close he refers to him as a son, though he was not a real son. Timothy was running the church in Ephesus and it seems that there were problems in that church because of false teachers creeping in. They seem to be the Judiazers just as we see in Galatians. These false teachers were mixing the grace of God with Law keeping as an added requirement for salvation. It is a false teaching that Paul fought hard against in Galatians. We see Paul write this,

“Thou therefore, my son, be strong in THE GRACE that is in Christ Jesus…Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David WAS RAISED from the dead according to MY GOSPEL…Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2 KJV)

Paul wrote about being strong in the -GRACE- that is in Christ Jesus. That Jesus -WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD-! The Judiazers were teaching more than this grace was required to be saved and that following the Law was also required; a very wrong teaching, as it is wrong today as well. A very dangerous teaching. False salvation teaching!

Paul also writes something that so many believers today have not grasped. Paul wrote “MY GOSPEL”. We know that after the Jews rejected Christ, that they refused again and a while after Jesus rose again we see that the Jews stoned Stephen. Saul of Tarsus was there, the chief persecutor of Christians at that time.  Christians greatly feared this man. The Apostles continued to preached to the Jewish people in the early church under great persecution but after the stoning of Stephen, we see God put Israel aside and sent Apostle Paul to the Gentiles (non Jews). Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus had an encounter with the risen Jesus and He believed and became a Christian himself! It is very much like God to send the biggest persecutor of Christians (Saul of Tarsus) to save the gentiles! Why? God is showing us the new -Gospel of GRACE- Through Christ Crucified and rose again.  It is the same Gospel of belief on the Messiah but there is something different about it because Christ has already come and died on the cross. Jesus already paid for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). On the road to Damascus, Paul meets the risen Christ and believes the truth and from this conversion is sent to save the Gentiles. And that includes you and me today!

A New Dispensation began that the Jewish people failed to recognize was going to start. They knew about Daniel’s prophecy of 70 weeks. They mostly knew that they were living at the end of the 69th week as well which is why the Jews were looking for their Messiah. Many felt like it was not the right time because nothing seemed to be happening except being ruled under the harsh Roman Empire. They were living under bondage of the Roman Empire and were looking for the Messiah to come and start Daniel’s 70th week, after which the Kingdom Age would start. This is the Kingdom the Jews sought after. It is the only Kingdom they knew about. But they failed to understand that Daniel’s prophecy stated that the Messiah would be cut off. This happened when the Jews, rejected Jesus as Messiah and crucified Him. This event did not take God by surprise! He foretold to them that it would happen through Daniels prophecy right?

When Paul started this new Gospel message, to the Jews, we see Paul calling it MY GOSPEL. Eventually he met with Apostle Peter and they agreed that Paul was sent by God. The Apostles agreed that they would continue to preach to Israel, the Jewish peoples, and Paul would preach to the Jews, but mostly to the gentiles. So what was different in the message? Why does Paul call it MY GOSPEL?

Those living under the Law before the event of the cross,  never heard about the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. They never heard such a thing and did not understand that. They never heard about human beings becoming one with God through and in Christ (John 17, Colossians 2). What they knew is that animal sacrifices were needed to cover the sins of the people UNTIL Messiah came to be the final sacrifice for sin. These animal sacrifices never paid for their sins, and it was only a temporary covering for their sin as they looked forward to the coming of the Messiah. They were to follow the Law of Moses, the Ten commandments and the Levitical laws which equate to 613 Laws. And animals without blemish had to be sacrificed.

“But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins EVERY YEAR. For it is NOT POSSIBLE that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but A BODY THOU HAST PREPARED ME: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.” (Hebrews 10:3-6 KJV)

That is why when Jesus died on the cross and paid for the sin of the whole world the Bible says He SAT DOWN. It was FINISHED! He became the final, once for all, blood sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.

“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ ONCE FOR ALL. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which CAN NEVER take away sins: But this man, after he had offered ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOR EVER, SAT DOWN on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For BY ONE OFFERING HE HATH PERFECTED FRO EVER them that ARE sanctified.” (Hebrews 10:10-14 KJV)

And what do we see today in the large major of, so called, Christian religious organizations and denominations? Still preaching condemnation to BELIEVERS! Still preaching they must have more good works than bad works to be saved. That a person can lose salvation because of their works and deeds. It is all the same FALSE TEACHINGS of the Judiazers my brothers and sisters in Christ. Do not be fooled! Christ paid it all! Apostle Paul,

“For BY GRACE are ye saved THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: it is the GIFT OF GOD: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. For we are HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED In CHRIST JESUS UNTO good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”  (Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV)

Whenever Paul mentions Jesus as ‘Christ Jesus’ it is speaking about the crucified Christ, and how He paid for the sins of the world on the cross. Paul also shows here that those teaching that works are required to become saved or remain saved are actually BOASTING in THEMSELVES and not the finished work of Christ! God forbid it brothers and sisters in Christ! Do not fall for this lie of ‘works for salvation’. It will only bring people to hell in the end; lost forever. Jesus
warned sternly about this in Matthew 7:22-23 and Paul in Galatians.

NO ONE was able to keep every Law and the animal sacrifices covered their sins before Jesus came. Only Jesus did that as God in a human body. They looked forward to the Bible prophecies that one day there would be a FINAL Messiah who would save all the people. Jesus is that Messiah. When He finally came, He preached that to be saved, they needed to believe He is the foretold Messiah. We see this in John 3:56 and 14-18. At the time, Christ had not yet gone to the cross and was living under The Law. Jesus fulfilled ALL THE LAW and that required water baptism. This is why John the Baptist used water baptism UNTO salvation. Not FOR salvation. John the Baptist said,

“I indeed baptize you WITH WATER UNTO REPENTANCE but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you WITH THE HOLY GHOST, and with fire:”(Matthew 3:11 KJV)

Today we are baptized by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit indwells a believer from the very moment of belief on Christ as the Messiah and Christ who paid for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2) with His once for all final blood atonement on the cross (Hebrews 10:10).

“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also AFTER THAT YE BELIEVED, YE WERE SEALED with that HOLY SPIRIT Of PROMISE, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV)

The ‘purchased possession’ is our bodily resurrection when Christ will come and Rapture all believers from our current dispensation of grace. And so, this verse means for ever. A believer is forever SEALED IN CHRIST from the very moment we believe on Christ and His finished work on the cross, rising again. In Colossians 2, we see what really happened on the cross that the Jews did not see nor understand.

“And YE ARE COMPLETE –IN HIM–, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried WITH HIM in baptism, wherein also YE ARE RISEN WITH HIM through the faith of the operation OF GOD, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, HATH HE quickened together WITH HIM, having forgiven you ALL trespasses; BLOTTING OUT the handwriting of ordinances that WAS against us, which WAS contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to HIS CROSS;” (Colossians 2 KJV)

This is the difference. When Paul writes, MY GOSPEL, it is the Gospel Jesus sent Paul to preach to those living in this new dispensation of grace that we now live within. The perspective has changed because the Messiah came already. Jesus was the final blood sacrifice and “…there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins…” (Hebrews 10:26) except to believe. That is the wilful sin the writer of Hebrews was talking about; the sin of unbelief and adding the Law to what Christ already accomplished and completed on the cross. Jesus paid for ALL the sins of the whole world.

The Jews never had the indwelling Holy Spirit before Jesus came. Once Jesus came, something changed! The indwelling Holy Spirit is only for the dispensation of grace that we live within today. Jesus is gathering from this dispensation a special group of people who He calls His Bride. We see Jesus telling Nicodemus that the requirement for the Jews to be saved now is “Whosoever believeth in Him” as the foretold Messiah.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16-18 KJV)

Notice that nothing else is mentioned. No Law of Moses following because the Law cannot save a person except for SHOWING THEM they have sin. No water baptism is required. Jesus was preparing the Jews for the soon coming Gospel of Grace Through Christ Crucified And Risen.

When the Messiah (Jesus) was ‘cut off’ God paused Daniel’s prophecy 70 weeks, right at the end of the 69th week. And then God turned to save the Gentiles and the new dispensation began which is the dispensation of grace as Paul wrote. In the dispensation of grace in which we live, a person is indwelt by the Holy Spirit from the moment of belief on Christ, sealed in salvation from the very moment of belief on Christ (Ephesians 1:13-14). Our salvation is not by our good works nor by Law following. Salvation is a GIFT to be accepted or rejected and as a gift it is never EARNED! That is the GOOD NEWS, the Gospel truth. Those who come to believe on Christ in this dispensation have become the Bride of Christ, in union with Christ forever.

Christ is one with the Father and the Father is one with Christ and the Holy Spirit (John 17). Believers today are IN CHRIST and so we are also one with the Father and Holy Spirit. Oh, if the Christian community today would embrace this great truth! What would we do for Christ IN US, the hope of glory!

1 Timothy 1:17-20. Does this mean OSAS is wrong teaching?

1 Timothy 1:17-20. Does this mean OSAS is wrong teaching?

Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.  This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them  mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:  Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.” (1 Timothy 17-20 KJV)

Apparently there was some sort of prophecy that got fulfilled with Timothy though I a not sure what that was. Paul certainly knew of it so it must have been a life changer! Paul calls Timothy ‘son’ but he was not  his real physical son. To Paul, Timothy was his closest teacher. A fellow who was trustworthy and kept the true Gospel of Grace Paul taught. So close that Paul calls him a son as a term of endearment here.

The letter of 1 Timothy was written by Apostle Paul to one of his top guys, specifically to Timothy, and is about how he should be running the church under his care. It is letter about being a good pastor. Paul strongly urges him to put out teachers in the church teaching, “Myths and endless genealogies”. Just as in Galatians, false gospels were running rampant and Paul wanted to squash them. There was even some who were writing counterfeit letters as if from Paul, but were not from Paul, who was at prison in his home for two years. Paul wanted to swiftly end any confusions with false gospels with Timothy in the church he ran.

What are these false teachings being committed? Some seem to be attributing this to the teaching of The Eternal Security Of The Believer (OSAS), which Paul did actually teach in his writings (Eph. 1:13-14, Colossians 2, Romans 5 etc etc).

What teaching did Paul fight hard against in Galatians? Eternal security of a believer? No. It was Judiazers teaching Grace plus Law following required. Grace plus works for righteousness. The false ‘works for salvation’ gospel that is, right now,  rampant in the end times we live in. The false gospel which Paul called ‘another gospel’ and those teaching this are ‘to be accursed’. Those believing this false gospel are called fools by Paul in Galatians 3. Paul gives stern warning against it in Galatians 5:4-[5.

These myths that Paul writes to Timothy about are part of Judaism and Law following as a requirement of salvation which is a very serious false gospel Paul fought hard against, as did the writer of Hebrews. Remember Paul was an expert in the Law! He was a Pharisee before his conversion. He hunted down and persecuted and killed believers before his conversion on that road to Damascus. He was at the stoning of Stephen.

“Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.” (1 Timothy 1:7)

Paul writes that The Law is only good if used in the proper context. (1 Timothy 1:8) It was made for THE UNRIGHTEOUS but NOT for THE RIGHTEOUS (1 Timothy 1:9-10).

Who is The Righteous group of people? People with good works and good deeds? No. Paul taught to be righteous is by faith in Christ alone.

“Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And BY HIM ALL THAT BELIEVE ARE JUSTIFIED FROM ALL THINGS, from which ye COULD NOT be justified by the law of Moses.” (Acts13:38-39 KJV)

“And be found in him, NOT having mine own righteousness, which is of THE LAW, but that which is through the FAITH OF CHRIST, the righteousness which is of God BY FAITH:” (Philippians 3:9 KJV)

We see this also in Titus 1:14,

“Not giving heed to JEWISH FABLES , and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.”

In Titus, another pastoral letter,  it is mentioned they are Jewish false gospel teachings of the Judiazers and Paul wrote about this with great concern for believers in Galatians and Ephesians too.

These Jewish false teachings are the teachings Paul wants Timothy to take quick action against. False teachings of myths and wrong beliefs of Old Testament genealogical lists as if Jews are righteous by genealogy. In reality, they are the “doctrines of demons” Paul wrote about in 1 timothy 4:1; adding works to grace as a requirement of Salvation.

Interesting that Paul prophesied about the End Times we live in, writing,

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that IN THE LATTER TIMES some shall DEPART FROM THE FAITH, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which BELIEVE and KNOW THE TRUTH” (1 Timothy 4:1-3)

Remember, Paul is writing to Timothy in regards to pastoral duties. These are ‘works for salvation’ false gospels. Rampant right now today and taught from the majority of denominations and pulpits! Oh how this is fulfilled before our eyes today in these latter times of the dispensation of grace.

The Jews understood their genealogies from the Talmud. The Talmud was in heavy use at that time, it made it’s rounds in some church circles and most of it being fables and falsehoods against the true Gospel of Grace Paul taught. These customs were not from God but were man-made laws. Paul in Colossians wrote,

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” (Colossians 2:8 KJV)

The Jews were also relying on their genealogy to Abraham and Moses for righteousness in addition to Law following.

These are the false teachings Paul wrote to Timothy about; not the eternal security of the believer. We know this because Paul did teach eternal security in Ephesians 1:13-24, Colossians 2, Romans 5 as only a few of many examples in his writings.

The spiritual connection to the faith of Abraham is what saves us (Gal. 3:9) but not the physical genealogy. Abraham believed and righteousness was imputed to him. (Taught by Paul in Romans 4:3 and Galatians 3:6. Taught by James in James 2:23)

For those thinking their works are required, either for or after salvation, to have true salvation and righteousness, they are in great risk. Are they sure they are saved the way the Bible tells us? Be sure!

Jesus taught against this sternly in Matthew 7:22-23,

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many WONDERFUL WORKS? And then will I profess unto them, I NEVER KNEW YOU: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:22-23 KJV)

Notice these people who think they are saved by their works do not even mention the blood sacrifice atonement payment made for us to be saved! Believing this way is what Jesus called iniquity. It is the sin of unbelief in Christ alone for salvation. They will be boasting in their works, even when being condemned because they were never born again in the Spirit by belief on Christ and His free GIFT of salvation. They rejected Jesus’ once for all final blood sacrifice (Hebrews 10:10) for the payment of the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2, 2 Cor. 5:21) and instead relied on their works and deeds.

Apostle Paul also warned sternly against adding our works to the Salvation equation,

Christ is become of NO EFFECT UNTO YOU, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.(Gal. 5:4 KJV)

1 Timothy in no manner refutes the Eternal Security Of The Believer. Trying to attribute this to OSAS being false, is going against the truth of the Gospel and using this passage out of the context it was written.

1 Peter 1:3-10: Encouraging Words About A Believer’s Heavenly Inheritance

The Blessed Hope

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:” (1 Peter 1:3-10 KJV)

What an encouragement from Apostle Peter to us all who believe on Christ for righteousness, forgiveness and eternal salvation by belief on Christ crucified died and risen! Peter tells us that as believers we should have a “lively hope”! An exciting and hope filled life in Christ. He tells how about God’s ABUNDANT mercy for us. As believers we have an incorruptible inheritance. Some of this inheritance we seen in our Earthly life and other parts of it will start at the Rapture of the Church, our bodily resurrection.

Peter tells us that this eternal inheritance of every believer in Christ will never fade away. It is an inheritance ALREADY RESERVED for us in Heaven. And Peter states clearly that we are not the ones that keep ourselves saved; instead we “…are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. “ And even when we face hardships in this life, and persecution fro our faith, we should set our hearts and minds on this hopeful truth. God is WITH US in and through everything that happen sin our life. Peter also speaks directly to us today, in our generation; the End Times and Last Days before Christ returns. He mentions ‘ at the appearing of Jesus Christ’ and that is us! We are closer to the Lord’s Coming than ever before. All the countless people who have come to trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for Salvation and eternal life, who never actually seen Him as Peter did so intimately, and yet believe on Christ, need to keep he hope of what is to come for us when Jesus appears again! The end of our faith and the glory God has made us in the Spirit already will be COMPLETED in our bodily resurrection at the Harpazo Rapture of the Church. Peter tells us that it is all by God’s GRACE! Grace that the prophets of old foretold would happen to us believers today.

It is hard to even image what that day is going to be like. We cannot even fathom what God has in store for us fellow believers! Let this hope be in you! Christ is right now in you, the hope of glory!

Apostle Paul put it this way,

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God
hath prepared for them that love him.”
(1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV)

Acts 16:31: Is All My Family Saved If I Am Saved?

Acts 16:31: Is All My Family Saved If I Am Saved?

” And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.” (Acts 16:26-34 KJV)

Here is Apostle Paul and Silas locked up in a very harsh jail cell, locked in chains. Not a great place to be and  a situation that would cause most of us, even as believers, great fear and anxiety. Yet, what are they doing in this jail cell? Singing! Praising God! WOW! Look at their faith! Amazing right? An Earthquake happens and all the jail doors and shackles on their body are all removed. The jailer who had fallen asleep in his boring job wakes up in a panic to find all jail doors open. FEAR strikes him to his very core! If a prisoner escaped, the Roman authority who have him killed and tortured. So he decides it is better to kill himself and he takes out his sword to do just that!

But where is Paul and Silas? Did they take the opportunity to escape? NO!  I must admit, if I was facing death in this prison, I probably would have ran until I could run no more. But not Paul. Not Silas. What BOLD FAITH! Paul was once a persecutor of Christians. He imprisoned believers once and he knew the rules for that jail keeper. So they scream out to the jail keeper to not kill himself, because they are right where they should be. They tell him not to kill himself. Look at the grace and love Paul and Silas gave this jail keeper! This is the love Christ has shown toward us and that we should show toward even our enemies.

The jailer sees this grace given and is very moved by it. You see, it is the love and grace of God that leads a person to repentance and Salvation. We need to remember this brothers and sisters in Christ! The jailer asks them, what does he need to do to be saved? He wanted the same grace. He heard their songs and praise of God, while sitting in that jail cell. But he did not know exactly what was the conditions to be saved.

Paul answers him with only ONE THING! Not a list of things that WE must DO. Paul did not list anything but ONE THING and here it is,

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

BELIEVE on Jesus as the Lord and the Christ. That is it. Believe what? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ! Believe that Jesus is God who died on the cross for our sins and rose again. This jailer certainly knows who Jesus is. Jesus’ followers are being imprisoned for believing in Jesus. It is the Romans who crucified Jesus. This jailer knew who Jesus is as a person but not how to be saved because of Jesus. Notice there is no long list of what this jailer needed TO DO to be saved. No water baptism as a requirement. No confessing every individual sin the jailer ever committed. No. Just ONE THING; believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the very same reply Jesus answered whenever he was asked the same question! In John 3, Nicodemus, a chief ruler of the Pharisees, asked Jesus this question and His answer is to BELIEVE ON CHRIST with nothing else mentioned (John 3:14-18). Others asked Jesus this question about how do we do the works of God and the will of God in John 6:37-40 and Jesus’ reply is only one answer.. BELIEVE ON CHRIST. I mean these questions were asked to Jesus directly for an answer. The jailer asked Paul and Silas directly for the answer. And the answer is just one thing; believe on the Lord Jesus. If any other requirements had to be met, wouldn’t Jesus and Paul and Silas list them? Yet, they do not. This is clear truth about Salvation.

Does This Mean That If I Am Saved That My Whole Family Is Automatically Saved?

Not at all. Paul is just saying that anyone, including the jailers whole family who would be the first to hear the truth from the jailer, can be saved by belief on Christ and His finished work on the cross, having paid for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). And if we continue reading in Acts 16, we see that this message was first preached to the jailers family and they accepted the free gift of Salvation by belief on the Lord Jesus. To be saved and born again in the Spirit, a person must believe the Jesus is God who came and never sinned, died on the cross, paid for the sins of the whole world and rose again. Just as Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians,

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV)

BUT! WAIT! Paul said to believe in THE LORD Jesus Christ. Doesn’t That Mean Lordship Salvation Is Correct?

Not at all. We cannot take the TITLE of Jesus as Lord and make works after salvation a requirement of Salvation. Jesus is LORD whether a person believes it or not! Jesus nor Paul replied to the question about how to be saved by adding works as a requirement of salvation. Good works can come from our salvation but not for our salvation.

Lordship Salvation is one of the most widely spread false teachings and it is rampant false teaching within the Christian Community and being taught by pulpits. It ‘sounds right’ but that is because it appeals to our wrong old nature thinking in the mind, instead of the truth of God’s Word and our New Spirit of God that God made believers from the moment of belief on Christ for justification and Salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14, 2 Cor. 5:17-21).

Lordship Salvation teachers tell us that a person must believe the gospel PLUS repent of sins a requirement of Salvation Through Christ. The very statement itself states two opposing beliefs! It is teaching that salvation is not by faith alone in Christ alone. It is PRIDE! Instead, it would be by faith PLUS the act of turning from sin as a person makes Jesus Lord Of All.

WE DO NOT MAKE JESUS LORD, HE IS LORD!

In other words, Lordship Salvation  is a belief that salvation is obtained by faith in God PLUS turning from sin as a requirement of being saved – which amounts to keeping the Law. It is about our performance being required. Jesus did not teach it. Paul and Silas did not tell the jailer this either. Paul used the word LORD as a TITLE. In other words, a person must BELIEVE that Jesus IS GOD.
