“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)

Apostle Paul did not state.. “rightly believing” the truth. Nor did He say “rightly living” the truth.

This verse is VERY important. Believer… WE MUST GET THIS! In fact, not understanding this is the very reason why there are so many Christians believing falsely about Salvation and Justification with God.

You see, ALL the Bible is TRUTH. All the Bible is FOR US. BUT… not all the Bible is addressed directly TO US, living in our current dispensation of the Age of God’s Grace!

One example is, when you see a “seemingly” contradiction in the Bible between Scriptures before the cross and Scriptures after the event of the cross (not just Old Testament/New Testament! The New Covenant starts at the cross, not in Matthew 1.) ; that is a sign that they are addressed to DIFFERENT DISPENSATIONS!

Another Example is rightly dividing between Scriptures addressed us in this dispensation we live in and the new dispensation that starts at the Rapture of the church.

This is not to say that Old Covenant / Old Testament people were saved by their works of following the Law.

There is only ONE Gospel. Salvation for people who lived before the Law was given by Moses and for those living after the Law was given to Moses, in the Old Covenant times, is the same as it is for us. Salvation is by BELIEF and FAITH ALONE that Jesus is the Christ, God in the flesh, who paid for the sins of the whole world.

Apostle Paul tells us that,

“For what saith the scripture? Abraham BELIEVED GOD, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” (Romans 4:3 KJV)

In fact, Abraham could not be saved by The Law of Moses, because he lived before the Law came by Moses! Around 400 years prior actually!

Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it WAS IMPUTED TO HIM; But for US ALSO, to whom it SHALL BE IMPUTED, IF WE BELIEVE ON HIM that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;” ( Romans 4:23-24 KJV)

And so I mention this before you watch the video, regarding Hebrews 6 because Rodney mentions Hebrews 6, but skims over it and it may confuse some. I am just expounding on Hebrews 6 so you see this truth.

Hebrews was written to Jewish Christians who lived in Jerusalem. At some points in Hebrews, it is referencing the unsaved Jews as well, but only in making points TO THE JEWISH BELIEVERS. These Jewish Christians were being persecuted and pressured by their unsaved Jewish friends and neighbors for the Christian Jews to go back to the animal sacrifices, Works of the Law, in order to be righteous with God. They were under great pressures to do so. The writer of Hebrews is persuading them not to do that! The writer states these Jewish believers were still on milk at a time when they should have been more mature in the faith.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the FIRST PRINCIPLES of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the WORD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS: for he is a babe.” (Hebrews 5: 12 KJV)

The Book of Hebrews starts with this,

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake IN TIME PAST unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath IN THESE LAST DAYS spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” (Hebrews 1:1-2 KJV)

Rodney in the video does get this right. The Messiah had come. The prophets gave us shadows of what the “once for all sacrifice for sin” (Hebrews 10:10) that Jesus would accomplish. And Jesus had come.

The book of Hebrews is addressed to JEWISH BELIEVERS; That is Israel. It is not addressed specifically to us in the dispensation / age of God’s Grace that we now live in. However, we too can learn from it because as Paul teaches, we are saved by faith – not works. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Hebrews agrees with Paul’s teachings. But it is addressed to the nation of Israel. It will apply greatly to those living in the Tribulation period in the future as well. Why? Because Christians will be Rapture before the Tribulation starts and God turns his attention back to the promises made specific to Israel.

Regarding Hebrews 6 in this video, because of this point, keeping all the Law was not how a person living in the dispensation of the Law of Moses was actually saved. Nor will it be for those living in the Tribulation Period. Why? Because in the same book of Hebrews it shows,

For the law having A SHADOW of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can NEVER with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto PERFECT.” (Hebrews 10:1 KJV)”

Animal sacrifices only covered the sins of Israel for one year. Jesus came and out an end to that because He is the final sacrifice for all sins (Hebrews 10:10, 1 John 2:2).

Animal sacrifices will start again in the Tribulation period in Israel as Bible Prophecy tells us. And there will be those born during the Tribulation period as well. Many will become saved by belief on Christ as God in the Tribulation period as well. Most will pay for their belief on Christ with their very lives in Martyrdom as the Antichrist persecutes. And the warning in Hebrews 6 shall apply to them as well.

In Hebrews 10, the writer writes about the unbelieving Jews in Christ’s final once for all sacrifice for the sins of the world, to the believers in conversation, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31 KJV)

The writer then tells the believers, But WE ARE NOT of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that BELIEVE to the saving of the soul.” (Hebrews 10:39 KJV)

Rodney mentions Hebrews 6 in a bit of a confusing way, very briefly, though he may believe as I do (I am not sure), but Hebrews 6 reads,

4 For it is IMPOSSIBLE for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” (Hebrews 6:4-6 KJV)

The key to understanding that this is not saying a believer can lose Salvation is the words “AGAIN unto repentance”. The context of Hebrews 6 is interrupting our fellowship with God, not breaking our union.

By going back and adding animal sacrifices to their belief on Christ for Salvation, their fellowship in being interrupted. The ‘again’ word is a tell tale. Some Hebrew believers were pressured into going back to animal sacrifices by Jewish friends and family. They still believed on Christ but doing this was like adultery to Christ because He already came and was the once for all sacrifice for our sins (Hebrews 10:10).

Once a person REPENTS (changes their mind) about how we are justified with God, which is not by Law following but by belief on Christ (John 3:18), they are saved ETERNALLY with no conditions (John 3:14-18, Ephesians 1:13-14). And so, if one of these Jewish believers committed this act of an animal sacrifice in asking God for ongoing forgiveness of their sins, it is impossible to REPENT AGAIN unto Salvation because they are already still saved. But they need to ‘grow up’ and understand it is VERY wrong. Very wrong. They need to get back to the rudiments of how they are justified with God; by faith alone in Christ’s once for all sacrifice which paid for all the sins of the whole world.

I just wanted to clarify that to avoid any confusion. Rodney’s main thrust in this video is about understanding Dispensations and I did not want a quick comment by him on Hebrews 6 to detract from this important teaching of Salvation by God’s Grace Through Jesus Christ.

Watch as Rodney Beaulieu shows you the TRUTH about understanding dispensations and RIGHTLY DIVIDING the TRUTH of the Word of God. Great video. Good incite by Scripture.
